Our team comes from a broad variety of backgrounds, and their diverse experiences have led them to becoming the passionate, focused, deeply involved professionals they are today.
Julia Block, the YWeb Coordinator, has an extremely diverse background in Case Management. In addition, she has over 20 years of personal and volunteer experience working with wide gamut of communities of all ages including: minorities, low-income, urban/inner-city, homelessness, mental illness, ADA, return citizens and refugee populations. Julia also possesses a wealth of cross-cultural skills as result of her vast experience. Furthermore, Julia is fluent in Spanish, has a passion for people in general, and is committed to helping them reach their goals and dreams. All while maintaining a love for party planning, crafts, dogs, and genuine friends.
Rasheid Atlas been a life-long designer and artist. “From childhood, I’ve been fascinated with and immersed in the arts.” Rasheid has designed experiences, both digital and spatial, all over the United States since 2000. His broad range of experience will give YWebCA students inspiration for the many directions in which they can take their careers. He said, “I’ve had my hands in everything from front-end design and animations to back-end programming and development to physical fabrication and installment. I’ve seen every aspect of the process, from start to finish, at some point. This has allowed me to shape my craft in a way that makes meaningful impact in the community, gives back, and helps mold the next wave of designers, developers, and programmers who will be shaping our future experiences.”
Yaminique Brown serves as the Placement & Retention Coordinator for the YWCA Madison. In this position, she recruits companies, maintains partnerships & relationships with employers, for the purpose of developing a pipeline of employment for clients served. Yaminique also provides assistance to program graduates in the areas of job placement, mentoring, career-ladder planning, wage negotiation, and continuing education. In addition, Yaminique enjoys helping individuals to identify their ideal careers and empowering them to make career changes.
Each student who completes the program enters a paid internship. If your company takes on interns, that would be a wonderful way for the students to put their new skills and experience to use.
