Starting my last semester in college means I have lots of important and life-changing decisions looming over my head. Where am I going next? What do I really want to do with my life? While I have yet to really answer a lot of these questions, one common thread I have found is that I want to help others in my future. So when I came across the opportunity to work for the career academy it seemed like a chance to really explore that side of my future plans, and to help me begin to answer those large looming questions.
In the time since I have started working with the academy, there are many positive things that have stood out to me about YWeb. One thing, in particular, was how deeply knowledgeable and friendly the staff of the career academy are. They truly have the expertise on what they are teaching and are passionate about the work that they are doing. This creates a positive environment and helps to make YWeb the successful program that it is. The staff also place high expectations on the students, and they do so in order to help prepare them for their futures. Something else that really stood out to me was the students of YWeb and the strong relationships they are already forming. The people of YWeb come here with various backgrounds and they all have various goals for the future, and yet when they come together in the classroom they find space to create incredible relationships that they otherwise never would have had.
Overall, working with YWeb seems like it will be a positive experience for me.
