Hi, my name is Haene Safavi. I have a passion for education and learning new things. When I first heard about the opportunity with YWEB, I was excited. A close friend recently graduated from YWEB and told me about how he landed a good paying job with TDS Metrocom in Madison as an Applications Developer. At that time, I had already started studying coding and thought this would be the perfect way to pursue an IT Career.

My education and background in business and accounting have taught me how to run a business independently while managing school-related tasks. I had a huge interest in Virtual Reality at the time and opened a Virtual Reality Arcade. My passion for new technology led me towards web development and coding. I read and write code every day now, it is my career! I feel lucky to have the opportunity to be in this course and I look forward to coming to class every day.

My ultimate goal is to find a full-time position as a back-end web developer. Over the next few weeks, I will be learning Command Line, SQL, Java, Python and Ruby. I came into the course with some knowledge in coding, and the most challenging part of this course is coming to class on time prepared while not knowing what to expect.

Rashied and Julia have been awesome in preparing me for my IT Career. I was given training in self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem. I went on field trips and toured IT and Financial businesses located in Madison, WI. I got a first-hand view of the life of a software developer. YWEB has given me the drive to succeed as a software developer.

Outside of class, requirements include attending meetups, completing blog assignments, reading and researching trending technology topics. I have increased my awareness of local technology groups and it keeps me informed of the latest innovations and skills.

I am glad to be in YWEB and I am looking forward to what the next few months will offer.
