Did you know that Google uses over 1 million computers for is operation and handles over 1 billion search requests—per day? Or that HP, Google, Microsoft, and Apple have one thing in common – aside from the obvious, they were all started in garages?

New technology is churned out almost daily and the Information Technology field continues to rapidly expand. The YWeb program, sponsored by the Madison chapter of the YWCA recognizes this. Although the field is continuously seeking new talent, statistics show that most positions held are dominated by white males. YWeb’s mission statement seeks to shift this statistic by bridging the gender and racial gap that currently exists in tech. Each cohort contains 400 hours of grueling technical cultivation in programming code such as HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, GIT and Javascript.

Students also receive soft skills training to assist in sustaining and building relationships, finance/budgeting and creating eye catching resumés to win over employers. YWeb effectively prepares each student to embark on a path to full time employment, an internship or the option to further education.
If you are interested in joining the wave of tech and altering historical statisitcs please visit the newly redesigned YWeb Career Academy web page at You’ll be amazed at the skills obtained that can be used to benefit our families and our communities all in one.
